A letter to my future marathon monday self

Tomorrow in Boston is Marathon Monday, where the entire city pretty much shuts down and dedicates itself to the tremendous athletes who are running the marathon. For college students it is an excuse to get up early, day drink (responsibly of course), and cheer on the runners. My roommates and I have decided to get up at the crack of dawn and cook a delicious breakfast for all our friends. The menu is as follows: blueberry muffins, cinnamon and brown sugar scones, both sweet potato and regular potato hash browns, and A LOT of bacon. And I do mean a lot…I think the plan is to purchase 5-6 packages, but in reality you can never have too much bacon. It’s physically impossible.

This will be my third and final Marathon Monday for quite a while, so it needs to be an excellent one. I have assembled a list of things that need to be accomplished or I will not be able to go on. First and foremost I need to be with all my best friends to maximize happiness, I need to purchase a cherry/blue cherry slushie from 7/11 in South Campus, I need to eat at the Warren Towers dining hall, and need to end at the Esplanade over looking the Charles River as the sun goes down.

My friends and I having an amazing time on Marathon Monday.

If all this happens, it should make for an unforgettable and magical day. I will absolutely let you know how it goes! And for everyone who will be running in the marathon, good luck! And for everyone who is not, be safe!

Happy Holidays!

boston, thank you. thank you for producing the greatest day in the entire world.
